Burglars Don’t Take Vacations

Burglars Don’t Take Vacations

While you’re away on vacation, the last thing you want to worry about is burglars invading your home and stealing your personal belongings. So before you leave, take these precautions. They’ll help protect your property and give you peace of mind.

§ Lock all windows and use dead-bolts on exterior doors. Install security bars on sliding doors to prevent them from being lifted off their tracks.
§ Leave a few shades or curtains open to maintain a “lived-in” appearance.
§ Set light timers in a few rooms so that it appears people are at home when it’s dark.
§ Stop newspaper delivery so that papers don’t pile up at your door.
§ Store cash, jewelry and other valuables in a bank safe-deposit box.
§ Don’t leave an outgoing message on your answering machine announcing you are on vacation. Lower the volume on the machine and your telephone ringer.
§ Install outside lights, preferably with motion detectors.
§ If you can afford one, install and activate a security system. Or at the very least, put security system warning decals on doors and windows to deter intruders.

Finally, ask your neighbors to keep an eye on your property and to notify you if they suspect a problem. Even better, ask a friend or relative either to house sit or to stop by daily to collect your mail, put out your garbage, and check that everything’s okay. Don’t forget to exchange the favor yourself.

happy birthday america!

This past weekend we celebrated America's birthday on Lake Cumberland with good friends, cheap beer, music, and camping! I believe I can speak for us all and say we had the best weekend ever!

the boyfriend & ii

love...

my best friend...miss whitney blanfordanthony's bf & my bf
i love summer...

It was certainly not easy getting up this morning and going back to the "real world" of Corporate America! However, one thing that always makes me day better is STARBUCKS!

In fact, one of the things that I enjoy most in life is Starbucks!

However...I can't stand the people that insist on talking loudly (and I mean LOUDLY) from across the room! On top of this, their conversation ranges from Justin Timberlake's movie career and how Kentucky Ale is a "terrible beer", which I highly disagree btw! Commoners of Lexington- please leave your LOUD, ridiculous, and non-sense conversations at home! Thanks! :)

3 more work days left in the week! Yippee! :)

Lady Liberty Cupcakes

Lady Liberty (MUTUAL) Cupcakes
Make this a monumental Fourth of July with this Liberty Torch, a sweet addition to any Independence Day gathering.

Ingredients

*Cake mix
*Flat-bottom ice cream cones
*Yellow or orange frosting
*Sugar wafers
*Orange and red decorators' gel

Instructions
To make a batch, prepare your favorite cake mix according to the package directions and spoon it into flat-bottomed ice-cream cones (a regular-size box of cake mix will make enough for about 24), filling the cones no more than halfway.
Set the cones upright in a baking pan, supporting them with crumpled aluminum foil. Bake according to the cake mix directions, following the time recommended for cupcakes. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely, then frost each one with yellow or orange frosting.
To make each torch's flame, cut 2 sugar wafers in half at an angle and stick them into the cupcake. Add orange and red frosting or decorators' gel, and you've got one hot -- and patriotic -- dessert.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!!
